Seashells Jurien Bay Unveils Thoughtful, Nature-Inspired Landscaping Plan
JURIEN BAY, WA, January 14, 2026 – Seashells Jurien Bay has detailed its comprehensive landscaping plan. The design, created by esteemed landscape architect Kelsie Davies, emphasises native vegetation, sustainability, and deep integration with the local environment, ensuring the development is a green and vibrant community space.
The detailed plan reveals a commitment to creating an interactive and generous coastal environment throughout the entire site, aligning with the Jurien Bay Urban Design Plan.
Each lot within the development will feature landscaped surrounds, with a minimum of one tree per short-stay dwelling and up to six trees for larger properties. Additionally, the verge areas will be landscaped and feature an extra tree per lot. A significant landscape buffer, including a number of shade trees, will be planted along Casuarina Crescent, creating a natural screen between the new development and the existing residential area.
The development will also feature a range of communal spaces, including pools, sporting facilities, parklands, and a herb garden. These areas have been thoughtfully designed to include generous canopy cover and extensive planting, providing residents and visitors with ample green space for relaxation and recreation.
The planting selection has been carefully curated to reflect the existing vegetation of the area. The plan focuses on sustainability through the use of native species well-suited to the coastal environment and incorporates permeable paving options where feasible.
“Our vision for Seashells Jurien Bay was to create a landscape that feels deeply connected to its coastal setting,” said Kelsie Davies. “We focused on using native and hardy water-wise species to not only ensure the long-term health of the landscape but to also enhance the natural beauty of the area. This development is designed to be a green sanctuary, with generous canopy cover and thoughtfully planted spaces that will mature into a beautiful, sustainable environment for everyone to enjoy.”
A major part of the project includes the enhancement of the public space between the resort and the beach. Seashells Jurien Bay will manage nearly 8,000 square meters of grassed parkland in perpetuity as part of its development approval. Furthermore, over 26,000 square meters of coastal scrub will be transformed into a managed dune system, improving views from the site and creating a richer habitat for local flora and fauna.
